In Strange Spaces: Worlds collide as Dustin Finer enters La Petite Mort Gallery Nov. 27

On Thursday, November 27, Ottawa’s Pop Drone is presenting Montreal saxophonist Dustin Finer, along with his visual collaborator Daniel Freder at La Petite Mort Gallery. Not to mention that one of our personal favourite local duos Bosveld will be providing support, which is a fitting addition on a night of odd pairings. As a label, Pop Drone has always had an ear for unique sounds, and have not been shy to put on daring performances in strange spaces (check out last year’s review of Pony Girl’s album release party at LPM for evidence of this). Thursday night’s show will be part of the Ottawa New Music Creators’s 2014-2015 season, and tickets can be reserved here.

Well, here we go again. As this city continues to build its repertoire of creative endeavours and off-the-wall projects, why not keep pushing the limits by integrating sight and sound with a space where visual art lives? I’ve always found art much more intriguing when it is combined with other forms – many of us want to be consumed and surrounded by a barrage on our senses. Experience it all yourself on Nov. 27, as it will be PWYC entry and cash bar. More details below !

Below is a new video for ‘Rain Song’ by Bosveld shot by Ottawa’s Pascal Huot.
