New Video: “Give Up” by Big Dick
Ottawa’s post-punk duo Big Dick recently released a new video for their “Give Up” off their sophomore album Disappointment.
The video, directed by Ottawa’s Lesley Marshall, features a woman sitting on a couch in a room watching TV who is unfazed by the constant chaos that surrounds her. She is stoic in her focus, or television brain drain, while so much around her changes, from the scene out her window to the stop-motion visitors. Her “guests,” many familiar local faces, visit shortly and bring her anything from beer to a melting ice cream cone to a birthday cake and balloons. There is even an appearance of a man in a hotdog costume who steals her beer and sticks a lit cigarette in her mouth… nothing fazes her.
