Somewhat overshadowed by the official line-up announcement was the posting of some great local acts that will dawn the stage at Bluesfest this summer.
There is a great variety of local acts spanning from Juno-nominated folk singer Amanda Rheaume, to punk rockers Average Times. From the super lovable hip-hop act Atherton, to the sometimes strange and whimsical psych-pop sounds of Boyhood. Silkken Laumann will have you dancing like no one is watching, while Keturah Johnson Band‘s leading lady will give you goosebumps. The raspy folk-rock styling of Jonathan Becker & the North Fields will make you want to crack a brew and head bob along and Scattered Clouds‘s psychedelic rock will channel the ghosts of Lebreton Flats past. And I have not even described half the acts yet. Congratulations to all of the local acts announced.
Stay tuned to Ottawa Showbox as we write longer pre-festival pieces on all the local acts, and reveal more bands as they are announced.
